Celebrating 35 Years of Helping Australians Move Forward

35 Years of LHD Lawyers: Growth, Experience, and a Continued Commitment to Australians

This year marks a major milestone for LHD Lawyers — 35 years of helping Australians move forward after injury. From its early days as a small New South Wales practice to becoming one of the country’s leading personal injury law firms, LHD has always had one clear purpose: to support everyday Australians through difficult times with care, integrity, and results.

Over the decades, the firm has grown from a handful of dedicated lawyers into a national network spanning Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, and Perth, with specialist teams operating across six states and territories. That growth reflects both the trust clients place in LHD and the firm’s unwavering focus on people — not paperwork.

Expanding Our National Footprint

The last 12 months have seen some of the firm’s most significant developments to date. In July 2025, LHD acquired Redlich’s Injury Lawyers, bringing together two respected practices with shared values and complementary strengths. The acquisition has expanded LHD’s presence in Victoria and strengthened its capabilities in workplace injury, TAC claims, public liability claims and total and permanent disability (TPD) claims.

The integration of Redlich’s has also allowed LHD to build on its long-standing commitment to accessibility and local expertise — ensuring clients in more regions across Australia can access high-quality legal support when they need it most.

Managing Director John Abouchrouche says the expansion marks another important step in the firm’s evolution.

“Our focus has always been on people — our clients and our team. The acquisition of Redlich’s allowed us to extend that support to even more Australians, while bringing in exceptional lawyers who share our values of purpose, empathy, and excellence.”

Recognising Exceptional Talent

As part of the 35-year celebrations, LHD has also announced the promotion of four senior lawyers to Partner*, Jamie Nemme, Lisa Meys, Wes Ranson, and Marko Eric. Together they bring decades of combined experience across personal injury, workers compensation and TPD law.

Lisa and Jamie have both built their entire careers at LHD — a progression that reflects the firm’s ethos of practising with purpose and maintaining a people-first, empathetic approach. Wes and Marko bring additional depth, joining LHD after decades with leading national practices, adding fresh insight and broadening the firm’s national capability.

“These promotions strike a perfect balance between nurturing homegrown talent and welcoming new expertise,” says Abouchrouche. “Each of our new Partners has shown remarkable dedication to clients and to the profession. Their leadership adds to our collective capability and strengthens our national team for the next chapter of growth.”

Real People. Real Results. For 35 Years.

CEO James Bodel says the milestone is a moment to reflect on what truly sets LHD apart — national strength, specialist expertise and a genuine people-first approach.

“We’ve built this business on a simple principle — every case matters,” Bodel says. “We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but even prouder of the people who make it happen. These appointments celebrate the lawyers who go the extra mile to deliver real results for real people.”

Looking to the Future

As LHD enters its next chapter, the firm remains committed to doing compensation differently. With over 2,000 cases won every year, a 99% success rate, and a No Win, No Fee guarantee, LHD continues to help Australians access the compensation and support they deserve, without unnecessary stress or financial strain.

After 35 years, one thing remains constant: LHD’s belief that every case, and every client, matters.
